We're looking for a Field Installation Lead who wants the opportunity to grow with us while taking on the roles of both a skilled network technician and an on-the-ground program manager.
This is not a desk job — you will be traveling to various sites across the country, leading installations, directing subcontract technicians, and owning the documentation and closeout for each site.
You'll coordinate directly with facility staff and program technology leadership. The right person for this role is equally comfortable setting up a project and able to articulate the status on a project status call. If you want autonomy, direct access to leadership, and the chance to be a foundational hire as we grow our team — this is that opportunity.
Technical Responsibilities:
- Rack, mount, and install enterprise switching equipment at government data center facilities.
- Install expansion modules, redundant power supplies, SFP transceivers, and patch cabling.
- Provision and configure network equipment to agency standards using CLI-based workflows.
- Configure and deploy AI-driven network management platforms per project specifications.
- Perform functional verification, connectivity testing, and fault isolation at each site.
- Receive and inspect delivered hardware; identify and escalate any shipping discrepancies.
- Install installer-supplied materials including rack-mount PDUs and power cabling.
Program Management Responsibilities:
- Manage your own installation schedule across multiple sites aligned to hardware delivery windows.
- Coordinate site access, scheduling, and logistics with each facility's on-site point of contact.
- Direct and oversee subcontract technicians on-site, ensuring quality and pace of work.
- Track hardware delivery status and ASN schedules; flag issues to Telispree principal promptly.
- Submit as-built documentation within 48 hours of each site completion.
- Obtain site acceptance sign-offs from government facility staff.
- Report punch-list items and escalate unresolved issues in a timely manner.
- Contribute to final program closeout reporting.
Pre-deployment training:
Before your first site, you will complete the following alongside the Telispree Team:
- Vendor-led hardware training covering the specific platform, Junos OS provisioning, and project implementation configurations.
- Vendor-led training on AI-driven network management platform setup and project-specific implementation instructions.
- Site reviews of complex facilities with the DOL/Job Corps program technology director prior to scheduling those sites.
Required Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with enterprise switching — Juniper EX series strongly preferred.
- Proficient with Junos OS CLI, layer 2/3 configuration, and SFP/fiber transceiver environments.
- Demonstrated ability to self-manage a multi-site project without close supervision.
- Strong written communication skills — per-site documentation is a core deliverable.
- Ability to interface professionally with government facility and technology staff.
- Willingness and ability to travel nationally on a sustained basis throughout the program.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Juniper JNCIA or JNCIS certification.
- CompTIA Network+ or equivalent.
- Prior experience in federal, education, or other government-adjacent facility environments.
- Experience directing subcontract technicians or field crews.
- Familiarity with AI-driven network management platforms (Juniper Mist or equivalent).
Travel:
This role requires extensive domestic travel throughout the program, including sites across CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, IN, LA, MD, MO, MT, NE, NH, NJ, NV, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, PR, TX, WA, WI, and WV. All travel expenses are covered with a per diem.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Base salary: $95,000–$120,000 depending on experience.
- All travel and expenses covered.
- Direct working relationship with company principal.
- Path growth as the company grows.
